Health Nut

Lachlan and Cong have been inseparable since childhood. Together, they turn a homemade fitness tracker into Health Nut, a global technology phenomenon worth billions. But success changes the balance between them. As Lachlan embraces the money, celebrity and influence that come with their creation, Cong grows increasingly alarmed by the direction of the company — and by Pablo Peron, the charismatic investor who has become Lachlan's mentor and his mother's partner. Their friendship fractures, and Cong walks away from the company they built together.

When Cong discovers that Health Nut's user data is being secretly routed to insurers and government agencies, his warnings become increasingly desperate — and increasingly difficult to believe. Lachlan dismisses him as paranoid. Then Cong is found dead. Haunted by their final conversation and increasingly suspicious of the circumstances surrounding his friend's death, Lachlan begins pulling at the threads Cong left behind. With the reluctant help of their brilliant, conspiracy-obsessed childhood friend Abhyan, he discovers that Cong wasn't paranoid at all: Health Nut 2.0 is part of something far larger than corporate surveillance.

As Lachlan prepares to destroy the system Cong died trying to expose, Pablo reveals the true cost of stopping it. The conspiracy has protected itself with the one person Lachlan cannot bear to lose: his mother. Forced to choose between family and a world that doesn't know it's in danger, Lachlan makes a decision that completes Health Nut's transformation from an innocent idea between two friends into something neither of them could ever have imagined.
